ABout Adea DeCarlo
Adea DeCarlo is a multidisciplinary artist, Creative Director, Scenic Set Designer, and Art Director whose practice explores storytelling through space, materials, imagery, and visual composition. With over 15 years of experience across film, television, live broadcast, and the visual arts, Adea creates immersive environments and artwork that blend design, craftsmanship, and conceptual exploration.
Beginning her career in Los Angeles, Adea built her expertise in the Art and Set Decoration Departments for film and television, collaborating with production teams and studios including ABC, NBC, Netflix, and HBO. As a proud member of IATSE Local 44 and Local 477, she developed extensive experience leading creative teams, managing complex productions, and bringing imaginative concepts to life through collaboration and technical execution.
Adea’s multidisciplinary art practice spans scenic design, ceramics, photography, mixed media, collage, graphic art, and found materials. Her work is driven by curiosity and a fascination with texture, composition, storytelling, and the relationship between objects and environments. Through an exploration of materials and processes, she creates work that bridges fine art, design, and personal expression.
Her creative direction experience includes designing sets, branded environments, and live event spaces for the Home Shopping Network, where she collaborated with major brands including Tarte Cosmetics and celebrity campaigns such as Gwen Stefani’s album launch. Her background in production design allows her to approach each project with a balance of artistic vision, craftsmanship, and operational expertise.
Alongside her professional design career, Adea continues to develop her studio practice as a ceramic artist and small business owner. She studied ceramic studio practice through classes and workshops at Callanwolde Fine Arts Center in Atlanta and continues exploring ceramics as part of her broader fine art practice.
